Course Overview

This course will prepare students with the basic knowledge set to enter the workforce. Specifically, to introduce students to twelve (12) positions in the hotel/resort hospitality industry to best prepare them for success when hired.

Purpose

This course is designed for workforce development and to prepare currently employed staff with advancement opportunities. Successful participants will be provided with a S.T.A.R.T certification that is recognized worldwide from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute and will have the option to choose a designation as Front Desk Representative, Restaurant Server, or Guest Room Attendant.

This certification course provides students with the necessary skills to enter and/or advance in the workplace. This course focuses on moving the participant from thinking about a “job” to thinking about a “career” in hospitality.
