HEATING VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC)

Course Overview

Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning will allow you to become an asset in the Construction Industry with a focus in the HVAC aspect. It will start with a prerequisite class that teaches the basics for the construction trade then advance further into the specific areas of HVAC systems. With the guidance of our industry professionals, students will take a test at the end of each class to become certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), which is recognized nationally in the United States.

Introduction to HVAC • Trade Mathematics • Basic Electricity • Introduction to Heating • Introduction to Cooling • Introduction to Air Distribution Systems • Basic Copper & Plastic Piping Practices • Soldering & Brazing • Basic Carbon Steel Piping Practices

HVAC Level 2:

Altering Current • Compressors • Refrigerants & Oils • Leak Detection, Evacuation, Recovery & Charging • Metering Devices • Heat Pumps • Basic Maintenance • Chimneys, Vents & Flues • Sheet Metal Duct Systems • Fiberglass & Fabric Duct Systems • Commercial Airside Systems • Air Quality Equipment • Introduction to Hydronic Systems

HVAC Level 3:

Fasteners, Hardware, & Wiring Terminations • Control Circuit & Motor Troubleshooting • Troubleshooting Cooling • Troubleshooting Heat Pumps • Troubleshooting Gas Heating • Troubleshooting Oil Heating • Troubleshooting Accessories • Zoning, Ductless, Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems • Commercial Hydronic Systems • Steam Systems • Retail Refrigerant Systems • Customer Relations
